The Clown Who Lost His Memory: The Life and times of Irving Pollard Richard James Talbot 10.17866/rd.salford.12200540.v1 https://salford.figshare.com/articles/online_resource/The_Clown_Who_Lost_His_Memory_The_Life_and_times_of_Irving_Pollard/12200540 Irving Pollard was an amateur variety entertainer who lived in Primrose Hill Street in the Hillfields area of Coventry. The Clown Who Lost His Memory is a multimedia monograph, created on Microsoft Sway. It is inspired by the museum collection of Irving Pollard (1898-1975), known as Chicot the Clown. The project first took place in 2006-8 in partnership with The Herbert Museum and Art Gallery, Coventry, Arts Council England and the AHRB (now AHRC). This story of recuperation through creativity suddenly seems apt in our current situation during the Coronavirus Pandemic so I have revived it. It is presented in fond memory of friends in Coventry who contributed and wishing them well as they think ahead to the 2021 UK City of Culture. 2020-04-30 13:53:00 clowning archive museum interpretation digital performance Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies
