Audio Illusions & Other Musical Curiosities<div>(This edit shows only the Raph & Additive Synthesis performance)<br><div><br></div><div>A lecture presented in collaboration with the University of Salford and Manchester Science Festival by Dr Phil Brissenden, Professor Trevor Cox and Dr Brendan Williams. <br></div><div><br></div><div><div>An investigation into audio illusions and phenomena, explaining both how these peculiarities are achieved technically and how they can be implemented for creative purposes.</div><div><br></div><div>Auditory phenomena presented include overtone chanting, the Shephard/Risset pitch illusion and its combination with additive synthesis and live performance on the Raph, the speech to song illusion and phantom melodies.</div></div></div>
