Mapping The Text

This essay and self-directed case study focuses on the impact of the typeface in which written texts are set. It argues for the potential that can be realised from foregrounding typefaces in the creative process through typographic-poetic collaborations. By selecting poems to suit typefaces or creating poems for typefaces, poetry can benefit creatively from a typeface's materiality.
